However, to avoid schedule conflicts, we advise you to opt for courses taught within the same degree. If you select courses from various degrees, you run the risk of conflicting both classes and exams. There are two courses per week for all students: writing skills and oral skills. For advanced learners there is one optional additional course between: methodology and grammar. Each course is credited with 2 ECTS and can be added to your learning agreement. Exchange students also have the opportunity to take French Summer Courses prior to their exchange. Seminars are assessed during the semester. In France, a 20-point grading system prevails, where 20 is the maximum grade and 10 is the passing grade. If you wish to attend the retake session, you must inform the erasmus office. They provide students an access to printers and photocopiers, as well as study rooms. catering The on-campus catering outlets are run by the CROUS. In any student restaurants or cafeterias, students pay the student fare with their student cards, which can be used as a digital wallet. The student fare for a full menu at a CROUS restaurant is 3.20€ (2014/15). IT services All students have access to: email account, portal and workspace on ENT, print and copy services in libraries, 26 on-campus wireless hotspots, 2 freely accessible computer rooms at the faculty. sports For a 20€ annual fee (2014/15), you may register to the Faculty of Science & Technology, to practice sport activities. Please note you will have to send back the Accommodation Form along with your online application. The Accommodation Office cannot guarantee any accommodation past the due date. Late applications will be processed if accommodation is still available or placed on a waiting list in case of withdrawal. If you do not wish to stay at the CROUS halls of residence, you should look for private housing on your own. You may do so prior to the arrival. You will find below the details of some residences. In case you don't have an accommodation prior to your arrival, it is highly recommended to book a couple of nights in a hotel/hostel. Regardless of your accommodation choice, you must take an insurance policy, which covers water damage and fire. You can obtain such an insurance by opening a bank account in France. Non-EEA nationals must apply for a study visa. Non-EEA students will be delivered an OFII form. Once in France, you will need to fill it in, enclose a copy of your passport and visa and send them to the OFII in Orléans. The OFII will then give you a compulsory appointment for the medical visit and tax payment (58€ as of 2014/15). Help can be provided at the International Relations Office. 15 international student guide 2016/17 healthcare university medical centre The University Preventive Health Centre is in charge of general student welfare, offering free appointments with a general practitioner, a specialist or a nurse; however no medical prescription can be given. social security system a Private Health Insurance including sickness, hospitalization, medical repatriation and civil liability. In case of illness, you will need to see an offcampus GP of your choice. A visit at a GP costs 23€ (as of 8 December 2013). Don’t forget to bring your EHIC or your Carte Vitale (French Social Security), which will make the repayment easier. You will be able to be refunded by sending the healthcare forms and copy of the prescription form to your home country’s Health Insurance organization. pharmacies They are usually opened from 9 am to 7.30pm.
