Davis, a 2009 graduate of Winston-Salem State University and Charlotte native, remains loyal to the Rams tradition by making generous contributions to the School of Business and Economics annual fund campaign and by serving as the WSSU Richmond (Virginia) Metropolitan Alumni Chapter President. In Richmond, Brian works as a Technology Analyst for Atria Client Services where he is responsible, as a member of the Teradata Warehousing Team, for extracting, transforming and loading data from a variety of source systems into the corporate Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The EDW data is then used by Altria to make $2.5 billion in trade payments, allocate price and product promotions and enable executive business insights. As part of his commitment to WSSU, Brian serves as a member of the recruiting team at Altria, providing summer internship opportunities to our computer science and management information systems majors. As Brian can confirm, these internships provide opportunities for exceptional students to achieve appointments to permanent positions following graduation. In his case, he interned in Information Services with Altria in Richmond during two consecutive Brian Davis summers. After moving to Richmond, Brian continued his education at the Strayer University Henrico Campus, completing his MBA in Information Systems Management in December, 2012. Brian has become actively involved in the Richmond, Virginia community. He works as a volunteer for Hands On Greater Richmond, an organization that pairs volunteers with community nonprofits so that a greater variety of projects can be completed. In addition, he volunteers for the Greater Richmond Meals on Wheels and the YMCA Bright Beginnings programs. Bright Beginnings provides eligible low income students with new clothes, shoes and a backpack full of supplies in advance of their school year. He also serves on the Xi Delta Lambda graduate chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity . During his tenure at Winston-Salem State, Brian received the Dean’s Award as a Management Information Systems major, was a member of the Beta Iota Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, and worked in the School of Business and Economics as a Computer Lab Assistant while pursuing his degree. In addition to his busy work schedule at Altria, Brian enjoys the opportunity to “hang out” with his coworkers and fellow WSSU alumni and students who are located in the Richmond area.
