The symposium is designed for urologists and urologic allied health professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge of the current diagnostic and
therapeutic modalities in urology.
A $50 handling fee will be deducted from cancellation refunds. Refund requests

Credit Designation
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center designates this live activity
for a maximum of 17.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ and 1 hour of
medical ethics. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the
extent of their participation in the activity. The University of Texas Southwestern

Upon completion of this symposium, the participants should be able to link
the educational objectives to Core Competencies (Medical Knowledge and
Patient Care) and be able to:
• Identify and diagnose patients with pelvic floor disorders through
exam, imaging, and urodynamic where appropriate
• Diagnose and surgically treat urologic trauma to maintain homeostasis
and restore/preserve urinary drainage. Identify complex patients that
require referral to a subspecialist
• Identify patients with kidney stones who should undergo metabolic
evaluation, recognize the components of a metabolic evaluation,
interpret the results, and initiate prevention and/or therapy
• Evaluate patients with ureteropelvic junction obstruction and
recognize what patients should undergo endoscopic, minimally
invasive, or open surgical repair
• Recall and integrate emerging biomarkers and genomic tests in the
risk stratification and treatment of patients with prostate cancer.
• Discuss management of patients with localized and advanced
urothelial, prostate and renal cancers
• Review recent updates to AUA clinical care guidelines
• Apply latest advances in testosterone replacement therapy and
maintenance of bone health in men with and without prostate cancer
• Integrate latest guidelines on management of pediatric reflux and
cryptorchidism

This symposium will review current recommendations, issues, and controversies in the management of urologic conditions, with an emphasis on topics
relevant to the general urologist. Breakout sessions will focus on the management and therapeutic modalities of selected disease processes. Live surgical
cases will be televised and moderated to emphasize important aspects of patient selection and surgical technique. Additionally management of practical
cases in urology will be reviewed, with audience participation.
