My duties included the design of the checking inventory of Bara district, fieldwork in cooperation with the Nepali counterparts and preparation of the final report. The report included the findings on the accuracy of the original inventory, recommendations for its further development as well as a proposal on the organization of checking inventories for other districts. 11/92 -12/92 12/91, 09/92 The National Board of Forest Administration, Joensuu, Finland • Data analysis and reporting of Kemijärvi forest district inventory resulting final thesis work in the university. Analysis of the data collected in the inventory included modeling, calculation and statistical work. In the final report local volume equations for pine (Pinus sylvestris), spruce (Picea abies) and birch (Betula pubescens) were introduced as well as models that predict wood assortments like sawn timber, pulp timber and waste for an individual tree. Crucial information was reported about the forest resources (growing stock and its value, distribution of the tree species and wood assortments) of Kemijärvi forest district. 05/90 - 10/90, The National Board of Forest Administration, Savukoski, Finland • Supervising of field measurements as a team leader in Kemijärvi forest district inventory. Work included orienteering, identification, locating and measuring of the selected sample plots in the field as well as felling sample trees, cutting trees into wood assortments and measuring them.
