WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY FALL 2013 INFORMATION Thank you for choosing Western Illinois University. We hope you find this information helpful. Housing Assignment Housing assignments will be made late July to accommodate roommate preferences through individual requests, the Roommate Matching Program, and Living-Learning Community preferences students may discover during their Summer Orientation and Registration program. For more information on housing preferences visit http://www.wiu.edu/housing. Housing Prepayment Required Western Illinois University has a Housing Prepay Policy for all new students living in the residence halls. The prepayment is not a new charge, but an advance payment of your Fall 2013 Semester room charge. Your non-refundable payment is due June 28 to retain your housing assignment. Payment methods are listed on the Billing and Receivables website. Cost Guarantee All new undergraduate students entering WIU are automatically included in the Cost Guarantee Plan, which freezes the rate you pay for a four-year period. Students beginning their education at WIU Fall 2013 through Summer 2014 will be assessed tuition, fees, room and board based upon Plan O, which will be determined at the June Board of Trustees meeting. These rates will remain in effect for four years of continuous enrollment. Tuition and Fees and a cost estimator are available on the Billing and Receivables website to assist in planning your budget. Electronic Billing The University bills by semester, not by academic year. Actively enrolled students will receive their billing statement via STARS. Notification will be sent to the student at their Western Illinois University email address when each bill is ready to view on STARS. Students may establish additional email addresses with our office on STARS to which email notification may be sent. The email will include the account balance and the due date. Details must be viewed on STARS. WIU Email and Student Assistance and Parent Service Center It is important that you read your WIU email on a regular basis. If you are unsure how to access your email, please contact the Student Assistance and Parent Service Center at 309-298-2092. This is just one of many services offered by the Center. The Center streamlines information and services important to students and parents in a single location.
