Hints on Preparing for a Math Exam:
•
Have a study partner randomly select a few problems and quiz you on those
problems. This type of drill simulates an actual testing situation in which you do
not know what order the questions are going to appear.
•
When first reading a test question, try to classify the problem. What strategy
and/or formulas are necessary to solve this problem?
•
Get in the habit of reading each test question carefully so that you answer exactly
what is asked. You do not want to lose points on a math test because you rounded
incorrectly or specified the wrong units of measurement, etc.
•
Optional Extra Credit: study arithmetic sequences (section 6.1); geometric
sequences (section 6.2); probabiltiy (section 7.1); and combinations vs.
permutations (section 7.5).
