ACCOUNTING PRE-TESTS TO BE COMPLETED FIRST WEEK OF THE COURSE The college is required to measure student learning. The Accounting department will measure student learning in each course by asking students to complete a short 10-minute pre-test, preferably before the course begins (or at least during the first few days of the course), and a post-test at the end of the course. The results of these tests will not be included in your grade for the semester. The results of these tests will be used to measure the level of knowledge of the entire class at the beginning and end of the semester. The faculty will use this information to improve student learning in the future. Please complete the pre- tests only during the first week and do so for all accounting courses you are taking. You can do this at home or anywhere you have internet access. Instructions for taking the test are given below. Please complete the test under exam conditions, which means you must complete all work by yourself and without help from a textbook. If you do not know how to answer the question, please select "I do not know the answer to this question." If you guess and happen to get the correct answer our assessment of student knowledge will not be precise. Instructions for taking the Pre-Test: 1. Go to WebAccess at http://smccd.mrooms.net and log in by using your student G-number and 6-digit birth date (unless you have previously changed your WebAccess password). 2. Click on the Pre-test and Post-test link in the left pane to bring up a window with the Pre-tests and Post-tests for all of the accounting courses offered. 3. Click on the link for your course in the Pre-Tests section and follow the instructions you will then find on-screen. After you have finished the test you must click the "Submit all and finish" button at the bottom of the test. 4. If you are registered for more than one accounting course this semester, please repeat the steps to take the pre-tests for each of your courses during the first week of classes. Thank you for helping us to improve student learning.
