Setting Up An Account On TurnItIn.com
1. In the address bar type www.turnitin.com and press enter. The following should appear.
2. Towards the top of the screen is a link that say “Create Account” … click it.
3. The following should appear
4. Towards the bottom of the page is a link that says “Student”… click it
5. The following should appear
6. Click in the white boxes under “Class ID” and “Class enrollment password” and enter the information below that
corresponds with your class period.

7. Click in the white boxes under “First Name” and “Last Name” and enter your LEGAL first and last name.
a. The name that appears on your school schedule and report card is what you are REQUIRED to enter.
b. Mrs. Wibbelsman will delete any student accounts where a nick name was used. It will still be your
responsibility to submit your paper through turnitin.com on time.
8. Click in the white box under “Email Address” and enter your Katy ISD email address.
a. Your school email address is your student ID number @students.katyisd.org.
Example: A1234567@students.katyisd.org
b. YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO ENTER YOUR KISD EMAIL ADDRESS!
9. Write your student email address on the “Remember Me, Technology” form
10. Click in the white box under “Password” and enter the same password that you use to log onto the computer.
11. Write your password on the “Remember Me, Technology” form
12. Retype your password in the white box under “Confirm Your Password”
13. Click the arrow under “Secret Question”; a drop down menu will appear
14. Select one of the secret questions and enter the answer in the “Question Answer” box
15. Circle the question that you selected and write its answer on the “Remember Me, Technology” form
16. Click on the “I Agree – Create Profile” link
17. If it states “An Account for this email address has already been created,” then you have already set up an
account in another class. See Mrs. Wibbelsman!
ALL OTHERS: CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR TURNITIN.COM ACCOUNT!
Note: If you have a previous class on your home screen, click the trash can and delete it.
18. Turn in your “Remember Me, Technology” form to Mrs. Johnson for safe keeping.
