CSL600 Professor: Dr. Shawn Robertson Final Project Part One Your final project will demonstrate your understanding of the tenets of technological literacy and your ability to create a technology based unit that encompasses literacy as its main goal. Toward this end you will complete part one of the final assignment through working with a group of 3-4 people. Assignment: You and your team are new teachers to The Woodridge School. Your Principal has asked you all to collaboratively conceive and develop a new Digital Literacy Learning “Center” for a K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12th grade classroom (Choose two groups i.e. K-2 and 35). You are to design the first unit of study that will be engaged in for this center and create an outline for further extension. In your effort to design this new center you should consider the following areas: Content Areas, Writing, Comprehension, Analysis, Synthesis, Technological Skill Development as well as Technological Awareness. Link all activities to the Common Core Learning Standards via a separate page. In order to assist you in this process several components have been provided below. You must utilize components 1-4 below to create the aforementioned unit (basic and satisfactory). Components 5-8 are optional. You should also add other items your team believes are necessary. These activities were created with the pen and paper model in mind, so you will have to transform their structures into technological activities. You should also choose your own theme/process (e.g. Space, A Chapter Book...). The unit should be created in PBWorks (as a base platform) and all activities should be clearly labeled with all members of the workgroup named as well. You are also to write a 1 page reflection on what you learned through this process (each individual). Components 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
