Overview
You are curators at a museum that will feature an exhibit on a presidential administration and how it
shaped American involvement in the Vietnam War or peace. Your job is to assemble artifacts and
resources that will capture the historical realities of the administration that your group has been
assigned.
Artifacts
Your group’s exhibit should include a minimum of 12 artifacts reflecting the history of the Vietnam War
and key people who shaped that history. Your artifacts can be simulated items or facsimiles of original
photos, documents, artifacts, or recordings, etc... A timeline should be centrally located and place your
items in the broader context of American and world history from 1945-2013.
Curator notes
For each artifact in your exhibit, write an explanation that provides crucial information that will place
the objects/documents you present in their historical context, shedding light on America’s evolving
history with Vietnam.
Bibliographical references
You can use print and online resources for your exhibit but must provide appropriate MLA citations next
to or on the back of the curator notes. For maximum credit on your bibliography, there must be a
variety of Internet, reference, and books used. No bibliographies will be accepted after 2:30 pm on
6/5/13.
Presentation
Guests will be invited to visit the museum on June 5th and your group will be expected to act as guides
who can explain the items selected for your exhibit.
