ANNOUNCEMENTS ARE TO BE POSTED IN EACH BUILDING
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Debbi Sager, seconded by Angela Perry to accept
the Rep Council meeting minutes of September 17, 2015, 2015. Council passed the motion.

Any member that is promoted to an Administration position is to contact the LEA to terminate their
membership. Refer to monthly BOE minutes on Linden website for new employees. Please sign them
up!

F. Grievances: Russ Marchica
No Grievances at this time, however a few may be coming up (benefit reimbursement, lunch duty, split
preps)
G. PHILANTHROPIC/SCHOLARSHIPS: Renata Marchesi
Please remind your members that it is important to donate a small amount each pay, even $1.00. This
money goes towards the scholarships we offer students. Contact Renata for forms.
H. SUPERINTENDENT’S LIAISON: Mike Manning email – mkmann2@gmail.com
Meetings set for 10/26, 1/25, 3/21, 6/6. Please note that agenda needs to be set three days in advance,
so Mike is requesting information one week ahead of meetings
Remember: issues need to pass through Building Liaison two times before going to Superintendent.
However, something serious can be passed by principal and brought to superintendent. Please send
concerns to Mike. Remember if physical must have word order number.

Pride supports Halloween Parade, Taste of Linden, boxing, Taste of Linden – always looking for new
idea. Anything that reaches the community could be PRIDE– contact Jan

OLD BUSINESS
A. A/R responsibilities –encourage people to become active in union and for the pension
B. NJEA Updates - text “UNITY’ to 73867; also text “PENSION” to 73867 for pension updates
C. UCEA Fall Focus –Thank you to those who will attend
D. Communications – any new members, please make sure you have contact information and
forward it to Russ.
E. Evaluations – Tenured members not on an action plan should have two long evals this year, every
one will receive email from administration outlying this information – email from Denise Cleary
F Check UCEA website for workshops
VII. NEW BUSINESS
A. BOE Report – Agenda will be posted on LPS Website, please check for new hires in your building
B. Pensions – UCEA will contact pension advocates
C. Elementary Lunch Duty/Google Docs –Russ meet with Dr. Robertozzi and Mrs. Cleary. There is
nothing specific in the contract relating to lunch duty, sys 55 minutes duty free lunch, $27 per hour if
you have lunch duty/administration will look for volunteers then assign lunch duty rotating teachers
D. SCiP Committee Members – if you were assigned you can refuse although it can count on Domain 4;
SGO’s are due October 30, you can hand it in early if you want it checked
E. Winter Leadership – October 26 is deadline to sign up to attend
F. Walk Through Forms – were sent to ALL STAFF by Denise Cleary, walk throughs are non-evaluative,
make sure members know that walk throughs are non-evaluative, but if administration sees something
off they can write that up.
G. Evaluations –(a) Guidelines from Denise Cleary sent to ALL STAFF
(b) Observation Alerts
H. American Education Week – November 16-20
I. November Elections—please vote and encourage members to vote/we will send out endorsed
candidates—we need to stop getting beat up by the politicians
J. PD Day Breakfast – LEA providing breakfast to all members on morning of PD
K. Weingarten/DCPP (formally DYFS) cards handed out to reps about Weingarten. Members can
always ask for a rep to sit with them – administration does not have to offier. Please inform members
that if they are accused of “institutional abuse” or hear that DYFS is being called, please don’t say
anything call for Russ to call lawyer. Note to Reps: Please just call Russ, do not get involved nor listen
to anything –you could be called to court as witness.
L. On Course (a) Who is checking lessons? Any administrator can.
(b) Who can comment? Administration directly connected to you, anyone else
comments, please let Russ know
M. SGO’s Due Date October 3, no hard copies necessary, done on Teachscape—please refer to DEAC
powerpoint sent by Denise Cleary
N. GNC time—please put on Building Liasion
O. Pink Out – we donated and purchased tee shirts
