Public Notice for Recruitment
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the recruitment of below mentioned posts accompanied by two
passport size photographs of the candidates and self attested copies of the certificates/testimonials of the qualifying

Note: In addition to the educational qualifications and experience, if applicable, as mentioned above,
the candidates are required to possess the following qualifcations as well:
(a)
For posts from Serial Nos.1 to 7, the candidates should have passed examination of Punjabi language upto
Matric standard.
(b)
For the post at S.No 8 candidates should have passed examination of Punjabi language upto Middle
Standard.
(c)
The candidates for the Post of Steno-typist at Sr.No 7 should have successfully passed at least 120 hours
course with hands on experience in the use of Computers or Information technology in Office Productivity
application or Desktop Publishing applications from a Government recognized institution or a reputed
institution which is ISO 9001 certified. OR should have done a Computer Information Technology Course
equivalent to 'O' level certificate of the Department of Electronics Accreditation of Computer Courses
(DOEACC) of Government of India.
(d). For the Posts from Sr.Nos.1 to 6, a written test and thereafter, an interview will be conducted. Written test
will carry 85 marks and interview will carry 15 marks and the final merit list will be computed out of 100
marks.
(e). For the post of Steno-typist at Sr. No.7, a written test for short listing the candidates will be conducted.
Further a stenography test as per essential qualification will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates.
Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of clearing the stenography test and as per merit in the written
test.
(f). For the Post of Driver at Sr.No 8, a written test for short listing the candidates will be conducted. The
shortlisted candidates will have to appear in the driving test for final selection.
(g) In case of any tie between two or more candidates regarding marks obtained in merit list, the candidate with
higher marks in the qualifying exam will be placed higher in merit.
2.
Age:
 Upper Age limit for the posts at Sr. Nos. 1 to 6 will be 45 years as on 31-3-2011. For reserve categories,
relaxation given by the Punjab Government from time to time will be applicable.
 For the categories of posts mentioned at Sr. Nos 7 and 8, Candidates should be between 18 to 37 years
of age as on 31-3-2011 and for reserve categories' candidates age relaxation will be as per the policy of
the Punjab Goverment .
3.
Reservation
 Reservation shall be as per policy / instructions of the Punjab Govt. It shall include the candidates of
SC/BC/Physically Handicapped / Ex-servicemen / Wards of Freedom Fighters and Sportspersons.
 Candidates applying under a reserve category shall enclose certificate to that effect issued by the
Competent Authority.

Examination Centres: Chandigarh and Mohali.
5.
Selection Procedure
(a)
For the Posts from Sr. No 1 to 6, a written test of 85 marks and an interview of 15 marks will be conducted.
Merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination and the interview. The
question paper will be bilingual (both in English and in Punjabi). It will have 100 objective type questions with
multiple choice answers each carrying 1 mark as detailed below. The marks obtained from 100 in the written
test will be converted into 85 marks.

Language Proficiency English- 5 questions
(2)
Language Proficiency Punjabi- 5 questions
(3)
General Knowledge - 10 questions.
(4)
Mental Ability / IQ determination - 10 questions
(5)
Questions as per job requirement for the concerned post - 70 questions.
The test will be of 2 hours duration.
There will be negative marking. 1/4th of a mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
(b) For the Post of Steno Typist at Sr. No 7, a written test of 100 marks will be conducted. The question paper
will have 100 objective type multiple choice questions each carrying 1 mark as detailed below.

Language Proficiency Punjabi-13 questions
(3)
General Knowledge - 25 questions.
(4)
Mental Ability / IQ determination - 20 questions
(5)
Mathematical Skills (Matric Level) - 15 questions.
(6)
Computer Knowledge - 15 questions
The test will be of 2 hours duration.
There will be negative marking. ¼ th of a mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The candidates who are shortlisted in the written examination will have to clear the stenography test.
(c)
For the post of Driver at Sr.No.8, a written test for shortlisting the candidates will be conducted. The
shortlisted candidates will have to appear in the driving test. Selection will be made on the basis of the merit
list of driving test.
6.
Fee:-
(i)
Candidates from S.C. Category: Rs 350/-;
(ii)
Candidates from Ex-Servicemen Category are exempted from payment of fee;
(iii) For candidates from all other categories including General Category: Rs. 700/-.
The requisite fee should be paid in the shape of crossed bank draft/banker's cheque in favour of Managing
Director, Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited payable at Chandigarh. Candidate should write his / her
name & address on the back of the bank draft/ banker's cheque and the same should be attached with the
application.
The fee once paid will not be refunded.
7.
Date of examination
The date of the examination will be intimated through an advertisement in the leading news papers, on
PUNSUP website http://punsup.gov.in and through post.
8.
No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the written test.
9.
How to Apply.
(a)
The complete application form should be sent by registered post/courier or by hand to the Managing
Director, Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd, SCO-36-40, Sector-34 A, Chandigarh.The candidate
should specify on the top of envelope word Advt. No., Name of the post appllied for.
(b)
The last date for submission of applications shall be 25th May, 2011 by 5 p.m. No applicaton shall be
entertained after this date and time. PUNSUP will not be responsible for delayed receipt of applications even
on account of postal delay.
(c)
If any information/certificate/document is found false/fake at any stage, the candidate shall be liable for
disqualification and prosecution under law of the land.
(d)
The incomplete application forms in any respect shall be summarily rejected. No representation against such
rejection will be entertained .
(e)
Two recent (not earlier than 3 months from the date of application) coloured passport size photographs with
a clear front view of the candidate should be pasted (not stapled) on the application form. Xerox copies of
photographs are not permitted.
(f)
Successful candidates in the written examination and interview, wherever applicable, shall produce their
original certificates/testimonials in person to the office of Managing Director, Punjab State Civil Supplies
Corporation Ltd. at the time of joining the service.
(g)
Candidates who wish to apply for more than one post should submit separate application forms
accompanied by the prescribed fee for each post.
(h)
The candidates will fillup their application forms in the prescribed proforma duly completed in their own hand
writing with black ball pen. The application form can be downloaded from the PUNSUP website
http://punsup.gov.in
(i)
The Managing Director, PUNSUP, Chandigarh reserves the right to modify the number of posts advertised
and modify or withdraw the recruitment notice without assigning any reason. The decision of the Managing
Director, PUNSUP will be absolute and final in this regard.
