THE HONG KONG INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS 香 港 工 程 師 學 會 Admission Requirements for the Environmental Discipline Candidates applying for admission to the class of Member in the Environmental Discipline of the HKIE are required to have the following: 1. Academic Requirement The academic requirement for Member in the Environmental Discipline is: 2. - an accredited honours degree in Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, Building Services, Chemical or related disciplines. - a relevant science degree such as in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Applied Science, "topped-up" with a Master's degree in engineering or equivalent. - Other academic qualification will be assessed on individual merit. Training/Experience Requirement Scheme 'A' 3 years' training in environmental engineering + 1 year responsible experience. General Experience Route Candidates who have not undertaken pre-approved training will be required to have had a minimum of six years working experience, post academic qualification. Relevant fields in environmental include: Water Pollution Noise Pollution Air Pollution Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Energy Conservation Environmental Impact Assessment Environmental Technology Candidates who satisfy the above requirements will be accepted for Professional Assessment.
