By: Amber Ruff Hi my name is Amber Ruff and I am in the 8th grade VA Comp class. The activities that I like to do are drawing, dancing, singing, and playing the violin. My favorite things that I like to draw are people, dancers, houses and random things that pop into my head. My inspired artist that I chose is Edgar Degas. I chose this artist because he likes to draw dancers and ballerinas and I thought that was the right artist to use. Edgar Degas was a French artist famous for his paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints. Edgar Degas is famous for drawing ballerinas and dancers. His artwork inspires me because I to like to draw a lot of dancers in my artwork and I also like to dance. I like how he brings out a lot of technique's and details when he is drawing the dancers. I used his artwork as an example to show people and the society how great of an artist he is and how he inspires me. Edgar Degas and I have a lot of similar things about are artwork. For example, Edgar Degas is identified with the subject of dance; more than half of his artwork is dancers and so is my artwork. Edgar degas also likes to give his dancers emotion and style when he draws them and so do I. . In many of Edgar Degas styles of drawings you can notice that his subject matter changes just like I don’t just draw dancers I like to branch out an draw new things. There are also many ways that my artwork and Edgar Degas artwork are different. For example, when Edgar Degas draws or paints he uses colors but I don’t use a lot of colors when I draw. Also, many of Edgar Degas artwork is painting, drawings, and printings, but my drawings are just drawings. In my opinion, I think Edgar Degas would like my work because I like to draw dancers just like he liked to draw dancers. I also think that he would like my work because I know that he would like to know that someone likes his artwork. He will also be happy to know that his artwork has been passed down to a young artist inspired by him. Thank you for reading my inspired artist writing and I hope to see you again later. Bye!!
