BREIS-student of life
During 2015 we’ve witnessed an escalation of World Conflicts, Global
Disasters, health Pandemics, Community and Family Unrest, so it’s good news
to hear that Ras Daniel Babu will be arriving in London around the same time
that I return to London.
Japan based Rastafari Ras Daniel Babu is a healer and nutritionist who came
into my life at an incredibly important time when I was going through my own
personal healing processes following some serious health challenges. I’m still
here, healthy and happily to give a testimonial where required.
The Ras played a very important role during my healing
so anyone with health concerns should try to get to
one of his events…..Don’t be afraid to attend because
he’s not one of those characters that’s claims that he’s
going to suddenly make a disabled person able-bodied
in 10 seconds, minutes or hours……
The focus of this year’s talk is ‘The Power of Self
Repair’……Come along and you’ll be sure to meet and
learn from other folks within the community who come
along every year to listen learn and share their
experiences

The Life and Legacy of John La Rose

John La Rose (1927-2006) was
a poet, essayist, publisher,

Healthy eating means eating the right food at the right at time; eating the
right food to balance the effect of the weather and climate, is a key factor in
proper nutrition.
With the spring comes the wind, in the earlier part is cold and wind and as
we move on to the end of March, it's wind and heat.
Cold is the main characteristic of winter and wind is the main characteristic
of Spring.
The wind causes the liver to work harder and weakens the digestive system.
One of the best food to eat in this season is oatmeal porridge.
Oatmeal strengths the digestive system at a time when it's easily weaken.
All grains and beans strengthen the digestive system but oatmeal
particularly strengthens the body against the effect of the wind. Oatmeal is
unique in strengthening the immune system, particularly the part that goes
after viruses (like flu)
There is no better defines than a proper functional immune system.
Be sure to get the right type of oatmeal, NO INSTANT OR QUICK COOK!!
Most of the fibres has been removes from those.
- Oatmeal
- Coconut milk (protects the body against wind - 43% of the fat in coconut in
anti-viral, anti-fungus and anti-bacterial - it also aids digestion)
- Bay leaf (counters wind and helps digestion)
- Goji Berries (Builds up the blood, strengthens liver, kidney, lungs and
immune system)
- Walnut (strengthens the lungs, kidneys and is a good source of omega 3,
which helps fight inflammation)
- You could add cinnamon if you like (Beware if you tend to be in the hot
side)
-> For best results soak oatmeal overnight and goji berries for 30min before
cooking and drain well.
We are in the last part of the winter and this is traditionally called the 'great
cold'; because when we get in the coldest part, it is the eve right before the
weather changes to spring.
In our calendar, we say Spring starts in April but under the old calendar,
there is actually 2 parts: the first part being cold and windy and the second
part, as it warms up, being warm and windy.
So a tea good for this season is ginger, red dates (take the seed out and soak
it for 20min in cold water) and brown sugar. Boil ginger and soaked red
dates for 30min and add the brown sugar in the end.
- The brown sugar nourishes the blood and keep it circulating.
- The ginger warms the body up and helps to keep your energy circulating.
- The red dates build up the blood and strengthen your digestive system.
And this is a wonderful tea to have after a day out in the cold.
How the climate and weather affect our body's organs? (Healthy eating
means eating the right food at the right at time.)
-The wind makes the liver works harder, which also weaken the stomach
and dry out the lungs, which requires a certain amount of moister to
function.
-The cold forces the kidneys to work harder and because the heart and the
kidney work together, it weakens the heart too. This is one of the main
season for heart attacks and heart related issues such as blood pressure.
-The dryness , like the one in the autumn season, makes the lungs works
harder; this causes weakness in the liver. In the autumn season, the liver
drops and reaches its lower function due the lungs overworking; thats why
in the autumn season, the sour taste is very important to keep the liver
active.
-On the contrary, in the spring season, when the liver is overworking during
windy conditions, we should limit the sour taste.
- In the humid weather, the stomach works harder, which in time weakens
the kidney function.
-In the heat, like in the summer time, the heart works harder, this also
creates weaknesses in the lungs, that's why it's good ti take more cooling
and moisturising food (such as tomatoes, watermelon, mung beans, okras,
etc…..)
