
What is one of the major themes?
An important scene that we found is when
Susie was getting raped. Mr. Harvey (the
next door neighbor) saw Susie and started
talking to her . “I'm sort of cold” Susie said.
“ I've made a hiding spot “ Mr. Harvey said
. As she was inside of the hiding spot Mr.
Harvey felt something more than a
friendship and began to rape her.
 The reason why we choose this scene was
because this is where the story starts to
turn to the worst , this is important
because Susie was not thinking and she
ended up listening everything Mr. Harvey
was whispering to her.

What is one important scene?
Visual Image from an
important scene

Mr. Harvey forced Susie to get undressed.

“Please let me leave ”.Susie said “Your not
leaving , Susie , Your mine now” (Sebold 12 ).
This scene is important because it shows how
much Susie was pleading him not to rape her ,
and how Mr. Harvey took advantage of her .

We make this connection to the world
because in reality when people go missing
while heading somewhere there most
likely to end up dead or get raped.
 This connection is similar to the book
lovely bones because Susie went missing
on the way home and got raped by
someone close by.

What connections can
you make to this book?
