Be able to identify and define frontal, transverse, and sagital planes.
Be able to identify the abdominopelvic regions and quadrants as listed in your lab handout.
Be able to properly use the directional terms and anatomical terms as listed in your lab handout.
Be able to identify the different organelles on the cell model in lab, and give a brief function of
each.
Be able to identify pictures of red blood cells in isotonic, hypertonic, and hypotonic solutions.
Based on the picture, tell which solution the cell is in, as well as the proper term for what
happened to the cell.
Be able to identify and name the different stages of mitosis on the models in lab, as well as on
the microscope slides.
Be able to name all parts of the microscope as listed in the lab handouts.
Know the names and magnification of each objective on the microscope.
Be able to calculate the total magnification of an object under a microscope.
Be able to properly identify the structures on the skin models as listed in your lab handout, and
give the proper functions of the Meissner’s and Pacinian corpuscles.
Know the different layers of the human skin, and which structures are found in each. What type
of tissue is predominantly found in the dermis and epidermis?
For each type of tissue we studied in lab, be able to identify it under the microscope, give at
least one function, and name at least one place in the body where it could be found.
Be able to identify and define lacunae and chondrocytes in cartilage.
Be able to identify and define the parts of bone as listed in your lab handout.
Know the characteristics of the different kinds of muscle tissue, and an identifying factor of
each.
Be able to identify ALL of the bones and parts of bones as listed in your lab handout! ANY of
them are considered fair game!
Be able to identify and name all projections, holes, depressions, etc. of any bone as listed in your
lab handout.
Be able to identify what part of the vertebral column a particular vertebra comes from.
Be able to tell whether or not a bone is from the left or right side of the body when it is lying on
a table by itself.
