Writing Better Funding Applications
This session will cover how to maximise your chances of a successful grant application. It will include what funders are looking
for, how to sell your group and how to present your project in the most effective way.
Building a Fundraising Strategy
Learn how to create a plan for acquiring funds, primarily for trustees and senior staff. This includes the key elements of a
fundraising strategy, how to tailor it to your group and sticking to your plan.
Business Planning
This session will cover what a VCS organisation’s Business Plan should include and how to structure one to fit your services
and priorities.
Risk Assessment
For those with responsibility for Health and Safety and Risk Management. Delegates will learn how to assess potential risks,
how to improve policies and how to implement health, safety and risk management.
Utilising Social Media
A course teaching voluntary groups how to harness the power of social media and use the internet to their advantage.
Volunteer Management
How to recruit and manage your volunteer workforce. Includes planning for volunteer involvement, recruitment, and
supporting and rewarding your volunteers.
Food Safety
An accredited course for groups who handle or provide food. Delegates will learn better food practices, what hygiene issues
food handling presents and legal responsibilities of food providers.
First Aid for Adults
A practical course designed for those with little or no first aid training. Volunteers or staff members will learn how to respond
immediately to illness or injury and how to assess the situation.
Lone Worker – Personal Safety
Volunteers or staff members who may find themselves in isolated or potentially threatening situations will learn how to risk
assess a situation and how to respond to difficult behaviour.
Safeguarding Adults
For those working or interacting with vulnerable adults. Delegates will learn how to identify abuse and exploitation, what to
do if you have a concern, and what their roles and responsibilities are.
Dementia Friends Training
A one hour session to make organisations more aware of the problems facing people with dementia and how they can make
themselves more accessible and accommodating for such people.
Understanding Health Improvement Award (Level 2)
Programme delivered over two days to help groups understand: existing inequalities in health, how communication can
support health messages and how to help service-users access further assistance in maintaining a healthier lifestyle.
