They are most shamed when their mother drives an old car around their village. Their father wins the lottery and buys them all new clothes and the mother a new green car. The new care gets old. The girls still feel shamed by their mother. Themes: Poverty and being Poor. The girls feel poor and ashamed by their family, but when their father wins money, they are not shamed anymore. They feel pleasure. But their mom still makes them shamed with the new car. The shows that money goes away, but family stays strong rich or poor. THE LOTTERY 1. Read the summary of The Lottery. 2. One friend is afraid of living her life and doing fun things. The other friend tells her to live her life well. One friend walks in to see her other friend on the floor. She thinks that she is dead only to find out that she is not dead. She realizes that life can end fast and that she should live her life the best she can. Question: 1. Does this story have humor?
