Journal 1: Three Texts I’m Considering for Final Paper
1. The first text I’m considering for my final paper is Gilgamesh. I think Gilgamesh would
be a good text to write about because it has a theme of what it means to be human, and I
could bring up many points about this theme for my final paper.

2. Another I am considering writing about for my final paper is The Odyssey. The theme of
knowledge being very important vs strength

3. The third text that we have read in class that I am considering using for my final paper
comparison is Cupid and Psyche. I chose this story because of the theme of eternal love
between cupid and Psyche, and it is about a quest that a woman goes on but the man
finishes. So it can be a strong representation of what the Romans/Greeks thought of
women at the time.
