History, World War
In the history of Slovenia mention of four main districts Styria, Carniola, Carinthia and
Gorizia have been done. Later the Bavarians dominated the city of Slovenia.
The Slovenian history witnesses the conversion of the Slavic people to Roman Catholism.
The house of Habsburg became the owners of the Slovene territories. Ptuj, Vrhnika,
Ljuljana, Celje were some of the main Roman cities. History in Slovenia has gone
through many changes.
In Slovenia By the end of 1867 Habsburg kingdom had become the powerful centre.
There was a lot of socio economic progress. But their was constant support to the
growth of the Slav movement .As a result the Austro-Hungarian Empire was totally
finished in the first world war. Slovenia was included in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats
and Slovenes. Again in 1941 Slovenia got its new identity between the countries of
Hungary, Germany and Italy. During World War II, Germany occupied Yugoslavia, and
Slovenia was divided among Germany, Italy, and Hungary. For the duration of the war
many Slovenes fought a guerrilla war against the Nazis under the leadership of the
Croatian-born Communist resistance leader, Marshal Tito.
