Fisher** Osceola County **Pending Board Approval The Central Florida Commission on Homelessness: 1.Collective Impact 2.Compelling Advocacy 3.Cross Sector Leadership 4.Strategic Solutions 2014 Accomplishments • Engaged over 1200 community leaders in our Collective Impact work. • Changed perceptions of the homeless around us using advocacy and social media. • Facilitated alignment with key stakeholders for investments and next steps. • Collected key data and best practices on the homeless in Central Florida and from around the country. • Created a path towards real results and solutions. 2014 Accomplishments • Six-million dollars donation from Florida Hospital to the Homeless Impact Fund held by the Central Florida Foundation. • Organized a Community Trip to Houston with 75 top leaders to study how the city reduced Chronic Homelessness by over 57% in just three (3) years. • Released “Gaps and Priorities” report identifying top needs in the community to help those without a home. • Launched “Rethink Homelessness Campaign" - reached thousands of people locally and millions beyond Central Florida. Homeless Impact Fund Purpose • • • • Create a “performance-based grant making market” with measureable outcomes for chronic homelessness – then family homelessness Attract private and public capital to pay for performance and build capacity, creating a new public sector focus on evidence-based performance Collect data to share with the community, donors, and grant makers providing opportunities for match grants to projects Provide incentive to attract more HUD money Goals for 2015 • • • • • Implement the first stage of our plan for the chronically homelessness Finalize regional strategy and create resources for families who are homeless Offer focused help for veterans still on the streets Improve housing options for those homeless due to domestic violence Create more public/private resources for all types of homelessness. Having key leaders understand and support the work and mission of the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness is important. • Advocacy on Legislation in Tallahassee that will be released soon by the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness. • Encourage Investment and Engagement from philanthropist, local companies and public sector leaders.
