TEAM WIN!
 3.30 GPA National Scholar Team Bronze Award (10th in
Ohio).
 Multiple Individuals and Relays to Districts.
 Committed to TEAM concept, worked hard and earned
respect.
 Surprised the whole local swimming world!
• Don’t be afraid of the “CIRCUSES.” They will be all around you.
• Many mentioned you swim “whatever coaches put me in.” Great
attitude! We are doing it again!
• Expect to work very hard: You will get the best coaching and training
possible. We expect same commitment from you. This is not a Learn to
Swim program.
• Get in Shape: Become physically stronger, proper nutrition, and
recovery. There is no time for less than best effort. In weight room and
pool: No Wall Huggers and No Wallflowers! Be a Rolling Stone.
• Reach National Scholar Team Silver Award. Gold???
• New Conference, AAC, Let’s win this thing! Top 2 in NEACS!
• 3 Relays and multiple individuals to Districts.
• Return to the “Big Dance” individually and with a relay.
• Note! Individual and Team goals can only succeed with the
“Sisterhood.” Social behavior that discourages the individual pursuit of
excellence limits our ability to reach our team goal, and is not
acceptable.
Find the Common Goal:
 We are done rebuilding. It’s
time to COMPETE.
 Stop being a “Sugar Cookie”
and make TEAM, Family,
Individual Goals happen.
 Reach National Scholar Team
Silver Award (3.50 GPA)
 Be AAC/NEAC League
shocker. Top 3.
 Individuals and Relays to
Districts and State.

World”

Start by making your bed.
Find someone to help you paddle.
Measure a person by the size of their heart, not size of
their flippers.
Get over being a Sugar Cookie.
Done be afraid of the Circuses.
Face obstacles head first.
Don’t back down from the sharks.
You must be at your very best in the darkest moment.
Start singing when you’re up to your neck in mud.
Ringing the bell reminds you of your Team and
individual Goals and why you are working so hard.
• First: Set your attainable goals. This includes short term
(daily), long term (end of season), family (always), and
TEAM (your other family) goals.
• Second: Be Selfish! Protect your goals from those that are
unwilling.
• Third: Hard Work! Your training can’t be selective.
Deliberate Practice, always, always! We are not here to
motivate those that don’t like to work hard.
• Forth: “Eat, Drink, and be Merry!” Take care of the
Machine. You are burning close to 4000 calories a day.
Makes no sense to train that hard and not take care of it.
Smart nutrition, fluids, recovery.
• Finally: Mental Training. Visualization of a positive
situation. Takes 3-5 minutes a day.

You will never do anything in this world without
courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to
honor.
