Accountancy

India’s pizza market is the fastest growing in the world. Mr. Ram who recently completed his MBA in
marketing from Delhi decided to tap this business opportunity and decided to setup an pizza huts in nearby

and showed his interest in becoming a partner. Ram and Nitin formed a partnership firm and a deed was made

2. Profit will be distributed in the ratio 3:2.
They started their business on 1st April , 2013 . Each partner contributed Rs. 10,00,000 as capital. A shop at a
prime location was taken on a monthly rent of Rs. 8,000. Furniture and fixtures of Rs. 1,50,000, decoration and
lighting Rs. 50,000 and Air conditioner of Rs. 50,000 was installed. Machinery required for making and
vending pizza was installed for Rs. 4,00,000. Two computers were also purchased for Rs. 50,000.
Out of the total capital invested by partners Rs. 5,000 was retained by the firm for petty expenses and the
balance amount was deposited into bank for customers. All the payments were done through bank. The
following payments were made during the year through bank:
Carriage Inwards

Salary and wages
360000
Electricity expenses
50000
Water expenses
30000

During the year, following are the creditors for consumable stores:
D. Essence and company
12000
Karuna cream
100000
Britania bread Company
60000
G & Company
8000
At the end of the year, pretty cash balance in hand was 2000. The actual amount of general and pretty expenses
amounted to 25000 and the cash required to meet the petty expenses was withdrawn from the bank. Closing
stock of consumable stores was valued at 80000. Depreciation is to be charged on machinery and furniture and
fixtures @ 5% per annum and on computers and air conditioners @ 10% per annum. Electricity expenses were
outstanding for 15000. Insurance of 5000 was prepaid and hence is to be carry forward to next year. Rent for the
last quarter was outstanding. During the year 100000 and 80000 were withdrawn by Ram and Nitin respectively
