The Abberton
Premier
League 2015
is here!
The Abberton Premier League is an exciting twist on the
‘fantasy’ style competitions that have been so successful in the
past.
With some innovative scoring features such as your captain
scoring you double points (similar to the Joker) and the
constitution of the team needing to be balanced between
bowlers, batsmen and wicket-keeper, imagination and
thoughtful selection will be key to success.
The competition will operate throughout the TCL and NECL
seasons and will be administered by Sam Trussler.
Entries are not restricted to ADCC members so give it a try
and help earn some much-needed revenue for the club.
THE RULES 2015! Please read carefully.
Basic Rules
1: You cannot use more than 70 points
2: You MUST select 5 Batsmen, 4 Bowlers, 1 All Rounder and 1 Wicket Keeper then nominate one player to act as your
captain.
3: Only games played in the Two Counties League & NECL League (inc cup & plate) will count towards your point total.
4: Entries must be received by no later than 31st May 2015.
5: All stats are taken from either Sportstaz or CricHQ if you believe there to be an error please email me.
Cost & Winnings.
1: To enter one team it will cost £5, however if you wish to enter up to 3 teams it will cost only £10
2: Prize money is dependent on entries received. 50% will be donated to Abberton & District Cricket Club.
3: The winner will be announced at the Dinner Dance Evening 2015.
Captains
1: You must select one player to act as your captain, this does not have to be you or a club captain.
2: Your captain will earn double points, (positive or negative) when playing for ANY side.
3: You cannot change your captain throughout the season. Unless special circumstances arise.
Batsmen
1: Two points per run
2: Scores 50 runs and you receive 25 bonus points!!
3: Scores 100 runs and you receive 75 Bonus points!!
4: Ends the innings "not out" and you will receive 50 points!!
5: If your player gets a "duck" i.e. No runs you will lose 25 points!!
6: Additional 4 bonus points for every 4 boundary hit.
7: Additional 6 bonus points for every 6 boundary hit.
Bowlers
1: If your player gets a wicket you will receive 25 points!!
2: If your player bowls a "maiden" i.e. bowls an over without conceding any runs you will receive 10 points!!
3: If your player gets 3 wickets in a match you will receive 50 bonus points!!
4: If your player gets 5 wickets in a match you will receive 150 bonus points!!
6: For every 5 runs your player gives away you will lose 5 points!!
7: When batting your player will score one point per run!!
8: If your bowler ends the innings "not out" and you will receive 50 points!!
9: Points for Ducks and Batting bonuses remain the same as Batsmen!!
Fielding & Wicketkeepers
1: For every catch your player takes you will receive 10 points!!
2: For every stumping or catch taken by your wicketkeeper then you will receive 50 points!!
3: If a player or wicketkeeper gets 3 or more fielding dismissals in a match you will receive a 50 point bonus!!
4: Wicketkeepers will score the same points as batsmen when batting.
5: No points will be awarded for a Run-Out.
All Rounders
1: Will score as Batsmen when batting & Bowlers when bowling
Playing
1: When your player plays they earn 20 points
2: If your player plays for a winning Team you will receive 5 points
3: If your player plays for the losing Team you will lose 5 points
6: In the unlikely event that a game is abandoned or cancelled no points will be awarded.
Transfer window
1: You will be allowed a maximum of 3 transfers during the season.
2: Your new player’s will score points from when you select them, not the beginning of the season.
3: Your new team must match the basic rules as above.
4: Transfers will open 1st June 2015 after all entries have been received.
