At every EconoCon, the theme for the next year’s extravaganza is voted upon. EconoCon 2013 brings you STEAMPUNK. And we’re peering through our dapper monocles in excitement. There will be a costume contest on Sunday (judged by unaffiliated Con-goers), raffles, tons of scheduled and open gaming, as well as some new surprises you need to come to Con to see! Warmachine/Hordes, Magic: The Gathering and Warhammer tournaments will also be waging. EconoCon XVI t-shirts will be available on sale at the event. Catering will be offered for dinner at the Con for a fraction of the cost of ordering out! You can’t even think of an excuse to stop gaming now! Who are we? On Thursday and Saturday evenings, you will typically find gamers of every variety storming the upper level of the HUB at PSU. Nerf swords drawn and console controllers at the ready, we all wait patiently for our chance for victory. We are the Plymouth State University Gaming Club. We’re a group of students, staff, and community members dedicated to gaming of any and all types. Our charter is to bring gaming to the masses as best we can. It doesn’t matter what kind of game. We’ll play role-playing games, board games, miniature war games, collectable card games, video games & just about anything else someone brings to the table. What are we offering? Since the year 2000, we have been organizing an annual gaming convention known to the masses as EconoCon. The first con was organized by the original Plymouth State College Roleplaying Club as a way to connect with other gamers in the area and spread the word. That mission hasn’t changed, even though the members and name of the club have. Each year we still organize EconoCon, a small-sized convention centered on all things gaming. Just like any other convention, we offer our guests the chance to play the games they love, learn a few new ones, meet some interesting folks in costumes or just relax and have fun with fellow enthusiasts. All this for a price that’s affordable for any gamer! What else would you expect from a bunch of broke college students besides an Economical Convention? Why do we do it? That question gets asked quite often, and there isn’t an answer. Sometimes there are questions to our sanity, especially that of the people who run EconoCon, but it’s all for you. Gamers near and far need to the chance to spread out and show their geek pride! We would make our convention free if we could. Unfortunately, these things cost money. In order for you, our fellow gamer, to participate in an event, enter a contest, or participate in any of our other activities, you have to be registered.
