JOB DESCRIPTION – Performance Analyst & Skills Coach Ravenhill Grounds, 85 Ravenhill Park, BELFAST, BT6 0DG Role Purpose: - To develop and deliver a world class performance analysis model for Ulster Rugby; and; - To work with the Head Coach to devise and implement a skills programme for all Ulster contracted players. Accountable to: Operational – Head Coach Functional - Director of Rugby Key Relationships: Ulster Rugby Management team Ulster Rugby Contracted Players IRFU Performance Analysis staff Ulster Rugby & IRFU Ulster Branch Staff Provincial Age Grade Management teams Location: Team training facilities & match venues Contract Type: Fixed term – 2 years Key Responsibilities: Capture, prepare and analyse data from competition and training and deliver performance analysis support to enhance Head Coach, coach feedback and player development. Undertake the technical and tactical profiling of elite players within Ulster in line with qualities required to become professional/international players. Electronic storage and maintenance of all captured rugby data on the Ulster Rugby server. Attend, contribute to and provide regular reports at all meetings with coaching staff and others associated with the professional game and high performance programme. In consultation with Head Coach and other professional staff, implement and deliver a rugby skills programme for all contracted players, in particular, those not regularly involved in match day 23. In consultation with Head Coach, develop Personal Development Plans for individual professional players and to provide individual feedback, both through analysis and coaching, as requested. Coaching support, as requested by EPDM, to Ulster Underage Representative summer programme. Attend national and regional meetings, workshops and training courses as appropriate. Performance Measures: Weekly delivery of detailed and accurate Ulster Rugby match and training analysis, both individual and team, as directed by the Head Coach. Weekly delivery of detailed and accurate opposition analysis, both individual and team, as directed by the Head Coach. Annually benchmark performance analysis model against other professional teams/sports to ensure that Ulster Rugby is utilising a system that is fit for purpose. Detailed documented coaching and skills sessions as directed by Head Coach. Improved individual skill development throughout the playing squad. Ensure Performance Analysis expenditure is within budget.
