There are about 17,500 species of butterflies in almost the entire world.
Butterflies are every where but the continent of Antarctica
The egg the butterfly was laid on is called a “host plant”.
Butterflies are going to help the garden by nurturing the plants. They
carry nectar and pollen to different plants.

Female Humming birds have a better time flying than males.
Humming birds aren’t migratory.
Humming birds pick up and put down seeds, which plants new

Bees

1. Females are the only ones that work.
2. The males are called drones.
3. The queen lays 2,000 to 5,000 eggs.
4. Only females have stingers.
Bees help pollinate the garden flowers by collecting honey. This
fertilizes the flowers so new plants grow.
Garden Snakes

1. Garden snakes are hunted by bears, raccoons, skunks, and birds of pray.
2. Garden snake are born live.
3. They eat frogs, toads, worms, lizards, slugs, leaches, spiders, amphibians, rodents,
insects, small birds, and fish.
4. When born, The mother leaves them to defend themselves
Garden snakes are not dangerous to people, but will get rid of rodents that
will feed on plants.

2. The more dee sounds in the chickadee-dee- dee the higher the threat
3. Chickadees are often heard before they are seen
4. The female selects nesting sight. The male doesn't do anything
The chickadee fertilizes seeds and nuts.
Tulips

1. Tulips can be red, orange, yellow, purple, pink, and bi- colored
2. Tulips can have 2-6 petals.
3. Small animals Like squirrels, rabbits, and gophers like to eat
tulips so watch out ok!
4. Tulips are the state flower of….Turkey!
Tulips will make our garden colorful and beautiful.
Worms
Did You Know?
1. Charles Darwin spent 39 years studying earthworms.
2. An earthworm can eat it’s weight in food each day.
3. Earthworms are cold blooded creatures.
4.Earthworms need to stay cool and moist in order to survive.
Earth worms will Fertilize the soil in our habitat garden. The worms are also a
favored treat to birds and will attract birds as well as a natural food source to
the birds,
Honeysuckle
Did You Know?
1. Honeysuckle berries are toxic to humans.
2. There are sixty-five different honeysuckle species.
3. Honeysuckle can be used as catnip.
4. Honeysuckle originated from Asia.
How To Make Your OWN Habitat Garden
Step One
Pick a nice spot to put a garden.
Remember: a garden needs a place were the sun can hit it most
of the time. Or were the sun will reach the plants

Step Two
Plant any type of seed in your garden.
Remember: The plants that might grow in your garden
should depend on where you live. You want plants that can
stand heat if you live somewhere it is warm. You want
plants that can stand the cold if you live somewhere it is
cold. Etc.

Step Three
Decorate your habitat garden.
How to decorate: you can add bird feeders and bird bathes
to attract birds and other animals like squirrels. You can
also add things to it that might attract a person such as
a table or some sun chairs or maybe even a bench. This
will help butterflies in their chrysalis form.

Step Four
Wait for your seeds to nourish, and the animals to arrive.
Remember: the animals won’t come if you are
watching. When they do arrive don’t rush up to them.
Give them time to get used to you. Also water your
plaints, and don’t sing to them. It doesn't make them
grow faster.
