Who to use & How to choose?

4 Global Partners: CH Robinson, Expeditors Int’l, FedEx, UPS
2 Types: Parcel (small package) & Freight (skidded material)
4 Standard shipping Modes:
Parcel Ground, LTL- less than truckload, FTL- full truckload, Ocean – LCL & FCL
 Exception – 75 miles or less on dedicated route (Teddy’s Transport)

Scheduling shipments

Book and process online using the appropriate GHSP
account number
Use at least one GHSP PO# as the shipment reference number

(Part # and persons name if not for production)
Only use FedEx Express services, and UPS Ground

Email, Call, or use Forwarder online booking service
Provide all shipment details at time of booking
Book in advance
Must use the Forwarders Bill of Lading
Accuracy is important
Not routed to a GHSP location, but GHSP is responsible for cost
Any invoice received by GHSP for a shipment that does not originate or
deliver to a GHSP location will be denied and billed back to the shipper,
unless the following is provided:
- GHSP Part#, PO#, Project#, or GHSP contact name, appears as the
shipment reference number
- Supplier provides written proof of request from GHSP contact

Time Critical Shipments
“When it absolutely has to get there overnight!”
Communicate early and often
- To expedite at GHSP expense requires written
authorization from your GHSP contact
- Always use shipment reference numbers
PO#, Part#, GHSP Contact Name, Provided Authorization #
- Ship the minimum required - not the entire shipment
(verify the plan with your GHSP contact)
- Use only GHSP authorized providers

- If Supplier is responsible – all ASN and notification
requirements must still be met

Common Mistakes
1. Not using the Forwarder provided Bill of Lading
2. Incorrect or missing shipment reference numbers
3. Waiting until the last second to arrange pickups
4. Missing documents or document details
