Full name Full name Title Title Signature Signature Date Date Network Applications: Servers in use: Using 3 Cisco USC 5108 Blade servers. One for files, printers and email, one will be used exclusively for security, and the last server will be for backups to insure data in case of failure. These servers use two Intel Zeon 5500 series processors to adjust performance according to the needs of the applications. Both severs will have 96 Gigabytes of DDR3 memory to balance memory capacity and density for increased performance. These servers will run on windows 2008 R2 enterprise server operating system. Routers and switches in use Using Cisco SLM248G 48-port smart switches a Cisco 2950 series 12 port WS-C2950-12 switches and a NETGEAR ProSafe FS728TP 24 port switch. These switches allow both function and security while allowing the increase of network size at any time. These switches also help to insure quick connections and reliability of data in the network. Software All computers and laptops will be purchased with windows 7 professional installed. Windows 7 is easy to use allows faster searching for programs and allows you to quickly access programs you use the most and still provides the security required. The servers will run on windows 2008 R2 enterprise server operating system. This server option allows easy setup and maintenance all nodes on this server remain in constant communication allowing other nodes to provide service in case of failure or scheduled maintenance. Supports 2 terabytes of memory capacity to support memory intensive applications. It also supports up to 16 nodes and allows for adding nodes as you need too. The purchasing of the program will be required for each of the three servers being used in the network. IEEE standards: These standards are setup by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which protect you as the customer and us as the installer. We will follow these standards. This section explains what is covered in these standards. This project will be using an 802.3 Ethernet in combination with an 802.11g wireless access point. 802.3 is the networking standard for Ethernet set forth by the IEEE. The Ethernet is the physical connection for the media used in the network. This will support a data rate of 10 megabits per second. This will connect the server access points installed on all floors to the main server. The wireless access point, 802.11g, will offer network access to the greater part of the building. This is done to offer seamless access to all areas of the building. The 802.11g standard used was also set forth by the IEEE. The wireless access point will support a data rate of up to 54 megabits per second over relatively short distances. This standard allows higher bit rates then 802.11a or 802.11b, but still runs at the same radio frequencies allowing them to be intercomparable. Connecting both Ethernet and wireless access to this network will allow a grater usability and mobility while still remaining secure. Network Topologies and Architecture: Network topology is a fancy name for how your network will be laid out within your establishment. Your establishment will be using an Ethernet LAN (Local Area Network), which is used for your on site location and a WAN (Wide Area Network), which is used for your connection to your home office in England. The WAN is almost completely handled by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) with some of the network addressing to be done by us. The WAN looks like this: Cloud Mr. Z’s CO Internet CO Home office/ Europe The LAN will mainly consist of a Star Network. A star network is a network that if you were to draw it out it would look like: \ Terminal FAX PC ` Printer Host Computer Communications Controller phone ` PC Laptop ` PC ` PC Star Topology This network style is one of the most common and easy to configure networks that are available. Network Cables: The cables that we will be using throughout your establishment will be CAT5e style cables. These cables are unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cables. They will be used to run your telephones over VoIP and connect your network nodes to your server(s). Network Security: Physical Security The physical security will be handled by cameras and locks on the doors that only certain personnel will be able to access. Software Security This security will be based on what software you as the customer decide to use. We will set up server security within the Windows 2008 server environment using access control lists (ACLs), active directory services (ADS), and firewalls. Our Enhanced Cat5 350Mhz Snagless Patch Cables will keep you ahead of the game. These cables will handle bandwidth intensive applications up to 350 Mhz and beyond. Each comes UL verified to meet all Cat 5e TIA/EIA standards, and drastically reduce both impedance and structural return loss (SRL) as compared to standard 100 Mhz wire! This is accomplished by bonding together each of the individual pairs, helping to maintain the twist-spacing throughout the line right up to your termination point. Constructed with high-quality wire and a shortened body plug will keep Near-end Crosstalk (NEXT) levels to a minimum. The molded, snag-free boot prevents unwanted cable snags during installation and provides extra strain-relief. Our 350Mhz Snagless CAT5E Network Patch cables are available in a variety of colors to easily color-code your network installation.
