Designed in grey and black by British female designer Zaha Hadid, this state-ofthe-art post-modernist building features natural, rustic shapes and distinctive
materials in sharp contrast to neighbouring buildings. The opera house covers
42,000 square metres (452,000 square feet) with a floor area of 46,000 square
metres (495,140 square feet). It comprises a 1,800-seat theatre, a 400-seat multifunctional hall and a 4,000-square-metre (43,000-square-foot) front parlour and
lounge.

Guangdong Museum of Art
The Guangdong Museum of Art consists of 12 indoor exhibition halls covering an
area of 8,000 square metres (86,111 square feet), as well as a 5,000-squaremetre (53,820-square-foot) outdoor sculpture garden. Each year, the museum
hosts nearly 60 exhibitions – from smaller, intimate looks at the work of
contemporary artists to exhibitions larger in scale, such as that of sculptor Henry
Moore.

Guangxiao Temple (Guang Xiao Si)
Guangxiao Temple (Bright Filial Piety Temple) is among the grandest and most
influential temples in China, with a history dating back more than 1,700 years.
According to historical records, Guangxiao Temple is older than the city of
Guangzhou itself. It was originally built during the Western Han Dynasty as a
private home, but eventually it became a lecture hall before being dedicated as a

IMAX Theatre at Guangdong Science Center
The first IMAX theatre in Guangzhou, this is also the largest IMAX theatre in Asia.
The largest screen is 29 metres (66 feet) in a 10-storey building. Capable of
seating 600 people, this 3D theatre was one of the first in China to use
photographic film for 3D film projections.

selection of children’s DVDs is available, as well as colouring books and crayons in the Hotel's restaurants.
Complimentary items include bottles and toiletries for infants, high chairs, child-size terry bathrobes, strollers
and bottle warmers. Items to childproof guest rooms can also be provided. Babysitting services may be
arranged through the Concierge.
Children’s menus are available in the restaurants and through In-Room Dining, with careful attention paid to
providing nutritionally balanced meals. Children under the age of 12 may enjoy the Hotel’s indoor pool when
accompanied by an adult. The Concierge can also suggest off-site activities to create special memories for the
entire family.
