Tsunamis case study-Indonesia-Boxing day 2004.
One of the biggest ever natural disasters took place on Boxing Day 2004. The
resultant deaths caused by the tsunamis were in excess of 230,000 people.
Some people say that the exact figure will never be known.
Over the next few lesson you are going to find out as much information about
the Indonesian tsunamis as possible and then you are going to write a report
about the disaster.
The research is going to be split up into three sections.
Location
Where did the tsunami hit the shore?
What countries were affected?
Cause
What was the main cause of the
tsunamis and what made the tsunami
even more deadly?
Effects of the tsunami
What happened when the tsunamis
stuck the shore?
There are several good websites that will help you find the relevant
information. The following can be used as a starting point for your research.

Report frame work.
You are writing a report to let people know what happened on the morning
of Boxing Day, 2004.
You have to write about the location (maps essential for this part), the causes
of the tsunamis and the effects of the tsunamis and its impact on the people
in the area.
Use the headings to complete a resource sheet prior to completing the
report.
