Treasurer’s Report a. Nothing to report, Treasurer not present at meeting. From 10/4/11 meeting $1,885.48 in account. 2. Minutes from last meeting a. Nothing to report 3. Reviewed timeline for 2012 a. Jan 3rd meeting– Discuss any suggestions for new rules or changes to bylaws b. February 7th meeting – New rules changes are voted and approved at this meeting. Dave Neil from the ASA will be present to review any ASA changes that would affect the Lanco league. Dan is hoping to receive an update on umpire fees for 2012 since contract expired at the end of the 2011 season. c. March 13th meeting– New rules and bylaws will be published. Organizations need to have an estimate count of teams per age level for the season. League fees and umpire fees will be disclosed. Dan will have a representative from the umpires association to be present to review rules and any changes that would affect the Lanco league d. April 10th meeting – Final team counts per age level, proof of insurance, league fees, field locations and coaches contact information will be due at this meeting. April 22nd you should expect to have the schedules release to organizations. Approximate start dates 10U and 12U – week of May 7th Approximate start dates 14U – week of May 14th There will be a week between the end of the regular season and playoffs for the 12 U and 14U. That week will be used to make-up any games due to rain. 18U softball starts mid to end of June. Warwick sponsored. 4. Proposed changes to Lanco Bylaws or new rules a. From Mark Carter – 10U pass ball. If the pitch is not a catchable ball, no steals b. From Jose Diaz – 10U volunteer umpires required to wear at least a mask for safety. c. From Jose Diaz – 10U consider moving pitching distance down from 35’ to 33’ d. From Diane Bragg – 14U decision on moving mound to 43’ as in high school. Will need to review what ASA has decided before making a decision. Most high school fields have been changed to accommodate this rule as 43’ is high school pitching distance. e. From Mark Carter – 14U playing 9 fielders instead of 10, to get the girls ready for high school play. All players present at game are listed in batting order. f. From Diana Dugan – ability to obtain umpires for your own games if having difficulty. Also a thought for 10U to pay umpire for each game. g. From Dan Jones – 14U and 12U consider replacing the Gold and Diamond label for the regular season, all teams play each other. Split A Division and B Division for playoff format based upon final season results. If numbers in age groups are high – split North and South for regular season, will limit travel distance for parents. 5. New Business a. From Dan Jones - Any organization that plans to hold a local tournament, provide information to league as soon as possible with age groups and dates.
