2. Water for the Thirsty

“For consider your calling, brothers: not
many of you were wise according to
worldly standards, not many were
powerful, not many were of noble birth.
But God chose what is foolish in the
world to shame the wise; God chose
what is weak in the world to shame the
strong; God chose what is low and
despised in the world, even things that
are not, to bring to nothing things that
are, so that no human being might boast
in the presence of God. He is the source
of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God
made our wisdom and our righteousness
and sanctification and redemption.
Therefore, as it is written, "Let the one
who boasts, boast in the Lord."
1 Cor. 1:26-31 ESV
Christ is our
Wisdom.
Christ is our
Righteousness.
“But now the righteousness of God has
been manifested apart from the law,
although the Law and the Prophets bear
witness to it-the righteousness of God
through faith in Jesus Christ for all who
believe. For there is no distinction: for all
have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God, and are justified by his grace as a
gift, through the redemption that is in
Christ Jesus,
Romans 3:21-24 ESV
Christ is our
Sanctification.
“Now may the God of peace himself
sanctify you completely, and may your
whole spirit and soul and body be kept
blameless at the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful;
he will surely do it.”
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 ESV
“Therefore, my beloved, as you have
always obeyed, so now, not only as in my
presence but much more in my absence,
work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling, for it is God who works in you,
both to will and to work for his good
pleasure.”
Philippians 2:12-13 ESV
Christ is our
Redemption.
Putting Feet on the
Message :
the Lord Jesus on the night when he was
betrayed took bread, and when he had
given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This
is my body which is for you. Do this in
remembrance of me." In the same way
also he took the cup, after supper, saying,
"This cup is the new covenant in my
blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in
remembrance of me." For as often as you
eat this bread and drink the cup, you
proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or
drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy
manner will be guilty of profaning the body
and blood of the Lord. Let a person
examine himself, then, and so eat of the
bread and drink of the cup. For anyone
who eats and drinks without discerning
the body eats and drinks judgment on
himself.
1 Corinthians 11:23-29 ESV
