Important Notes:
1) All problems listed below have answers in the back of the textbook. Grade the work
you do. By grading your work, you can learn not to make common mistakes like failing
to put arrows at the end of lines when graphing, or failing to represent the solution to a
system as an ordered pair, in the form (x, y).
2) You are expected to read through each section before doing any exercises assigned.
3) At the end of a section's exercise set, you'll find a "quick quiz" whose answers are in
the back of the textbook.
4) Each chapter has three sets of cumulative exercises: a mid-chapter set, a chapter
review, and a chapter test. For each of these sets, the answers to both odd and even
exercises appear in the back of the textbook. For your convenience, problems from
these exercise sets have been included below.
5) The more suggested bookwork you can do, the better, and not just for this class.
Diligent practice now will obviously help you succeed in this course, and it can pay off
nicely in the next course (math 120) as well. In real estate, it's all about "location,
location, location." In mathematics, it's all about "practice, practice, practice."
