Communism
 - the is a classless society, where
there are no rich people and no poor
people
 -people are equal when it comes to
political, social and economic stature
 -the government owns all the
businesses and controls the economy
 -the government determines all
wages and salaries
Communism
 “Pure communism" refers to a classless, stateless
and oppression-free society where decisions on what
to produce and what policies to pursue are made
democratically, allowing every member of society to
participate in the decision-making process in both the
political and economic spheres of life
 The idea is that everyone is EQUAL!!
 If it were a perfect world communism would be
AWESOME!!!!!
 In THEORY communism is a great system
 Unfortunately it is very difficult have a TRUE
COMMUNIST government. (WHY?)

 -this is a class society, there is a distinct
rich, middle class, and poor
 -power is held by the people who live in the
country, the majority always rule and make
the decisions
 -anyone can become extremely rich, and
anyone can become extremely poor
depending on their circumstances, and the
choices they make

 -this is a class society, with one distinct
ruler
 -power is held by this ruler alone, and the
public must follow
 -the ruler may sometimes look to his/her
public for their needs, but the majority of
the time he/she makes all major decisions
when it comes to the government
 -most of the time you have to be born into
this position, in order to become ruler.

 Kim's family follows the highly
centralized, patriarchal ruling model
of Confucianism.
 His citizens are more shut off from
the world than those of any other
nation.
Socialism
 -this is a classless society, there are no
rich, middle class, or poor
 -power should be given to the people
 -anything that is produced should be owned
EQUALLY by those who produce it.
 - if hundreds of people come together to
produce a factory, it shouldn’t then become
the sole property of one person.

 In a perfect world, socialism would be
wonderful!
 Similar to communism, it is very hard
to do!
 Humans are inherently greedy

 -this is a class society with a rich and
poor
 -a group or party have the power,
with one person as the leader
 -promotes violence between nations,
in order to get things done
 -forbid and criticism towards those
who rule the government

 Russia when Stalin was president
 Germany when Hitler was the leader
Oligarchy
 -this is a class society with a distinct
rich, middle class, and poor
 -power is given to an elite group of
wealth or royalty
 -you must be born into a position of
wealth, prosperity, or power

based on who you are talking too
 Sometimes a Government can fall
under a few definitions
