Group Taught Tale
In groups, your task will be to teach a specific tale from The Canterbury Tales to the rest of the class.
The tales you are able to choose from include: “The Nun’s Priest’s Tale”, “The Pardoner’s Tale” and
“The Wife of Bath’s Tale”.
Your project will be worth 150 points and include the following components:
1 SUMMARY (20 POINTS)
Give a summary, in your own words, of the events in the tale. The summary should be specific and give
detail on all parts of tale, including the end.

2 READ EXCERPTS (15 POINTS)
Pick THREE of your favorite parts in the tale. These could be humorous, important parts in the story, or
something you found particularly interesting. Explanation should be given as to what the text means and
why it was chosen. You either need to provide the text for the class to follow along or direct the class to
the appropriate place in their book.

3 ACT OUT ONE SCENE FROM THE TALE (40 POINTS)
Choose one scene, different from those that were read to the class, to act out. This could be done in class
or previously completed and taped outside of class. All members of the group should be seen and take a
part in the scene AND be in appropriate dress. The century of the tale can be adapted to make the acting
possible.

media sites, do not create a real account. By doing so you run the risk of having it deleted.
