The 1990s Annotated Timeline
Task: You will be creating an annotated timeline
of events for the George HW Bush and William J
Clinton Presidencies.

Your timeline must be on paper no
larger than 11”x14” (you may attach
multiple pages of the same size
together with tape… I do not want a
poster board!)
Your timeline must be flat (no rolled
up papers, I need to be able to
transport hem with ease)
Your timeline must be on only one
side of the paper (front)
Your timeline must be neat in
appearance
Your timeline must have a title
Your timeline must include 10 relevant images
All words and pictures should face in the same direction

All foreign policy (involves the USA and another country) events should be in BLUE
 You will need to pick a minimum of 6
 Include a description of what the US involvement in the event was

All domestic policy (in the USA) events should be in BLACK
 You will need to pick a minimum of 10
 Include a description of what the event was and why that is important to the history of the US
 3 will be the results of the 1988, 1992 and 1996 elections
 Does not include court cases

All pop culture events should be in RED
 You should have a minimum of 10
 Include a description of why it was important or influential to the time period
 Example (you may not use this on your timeline):
o 1991 Nevermind studio album by Nirvana
Had a huge influence on mainstream rock that followed, known as grunge rock

All court cases should be in GREEN
 You need to pick a minimum of 4 Supreme Court Cases
 Decision made during the HW Bush or Clinton Presidencies
 Include a description of what the court case ruling was
 Example (you may use this on your timeline):
o 1997 Clinton v. Jones
a sitting President of the US has no immunity from civil law litigation against him, for
acts done before taking office and unrelated to the office.
