WHO WE ARE
Mideco Group Corporation with headquarters in Tokyo and Honolulu is a consulting
management firm that advises companies, institutional investors, and industry associations on
international market entry, public private partnership, and socially responsible investing strategy
across a diverse range of soft commodities, livestock, and bio fuels, to include value and supply
chain development in emerging markets.
OUR MISSION
TO PROMOTE FOREIGN INVESTMENT IN EMERGING MARKETS THROUGH SUSTAINABLE
AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT WHILE CREATING MAXIMUM VALUE FOR BOTH INVESTORS AND
THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
YOUNG AND UNTAPPED
Africa is still young with much untapped potential and a range of
investment opportunities. The continent has a comparative
advantage in agricultural production.
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
The process for acquiring land for sustainable agriculture can be relatively cumbersome, timeconsuming and elaborate for outside investors to handle. We forge successful public-private
partnership through principled negotiations with local authorities, and in some cases chieftaincy
which differs from each location, as local communities expect benefits that come with commercial
operations. Involving traditional authorities while observing local business protocols earlier in the
.negotiation process ensures maximum opportunities for all parties. Mideco Group has established
relationship with private, local, and government entities involved in land transactions ensuring
investors successfully navigate the process of farmland investments

The last four decades have seen a significant decline in Japanese agriculture resulting in the country emerging as a net food
importer. According to MAFF, between 1960 and 2005 Japan’s food self-sufficiency ratio declined from 79 per cent to 41 per
cent, and the percentage of farmers over 65 years old have increased from 10 per cent to 60 per cent. In order to achieve
food security, Japan would have to maintain stable imports through overseas farmland investment.
