American Revolutionary War Timeline Project
Essential Question: What were the most important events that occurred throughout the Revolutionary
War?
Goal: Create an annotated timeline of the events leading to and during the American Revolution and
determine the significance of these events.
Directions:
1. Design a timeline that will show events between the dates of 1763-1783
2. Divide your timeline into equal segments of 5 year intervals and use arrows at each end to show
time extending. You may use your paper vertically or horizontally.
3. Using your textbook and iPad you will research each of the events and determine a specific date
this event took place. A month, day and year can be found for each event.
4. Determine the significance of the event and write a brief statement identifying why this event
was important (3-5 sentences).
5. Illustrate 5 events you think are the most significant/important. You may draw pictures or print
them offline.
6. Title your timeline; use ink, colored pencils or markers…..no pencils!
7. Make your timeline readable, neat, creative and attractive. Don’t forget to proofread your work.
8. Display these events, annotations and illustrations on one side of the timeline.
