Before the class, show student some
pictures, and ask them what they think
of it.
Use PowerPoint to explain the
definition of Abnormal Psychology.
Let students brainstorm any
characteristics of Abnormal
Psychology and write them down on
the erase boards as a group.
List students’ answers on blackboard,
and talk about them.
Summarize the characteristics of
Abnormal Psychology.
Show them a fun video from
Education Portal1 for better
memorizing and understand.

 Pass out the in-class assignment to
students, let them work together as
groups. Help them if they have any
question.
 Pass out the extra reading material
with questions to students as
homework, and tell them to read and
complete it before next class, it is very
helpful for the next chapter.

Standard 6 — Abnormal Psychology
Students explore the common characteristics
of abnormal behavior as well as the influence
culture has had on that definition. Students
also identify major theories and categories of
abnormal behavior. Students discuss
characteristics of effective treatment and
prevention of abnormal behaviors.

Part 3:
Using Google Docs can be really different from using word processor. Google Docs is more
advanced. Word processor has limitation, because you can use word processor only to create
your own document or any other projects, however, using Google Docs can not only allow you
to create your own thing, but also share it with the other people. After you complete your
document, you can share it on Google Docs, and authorize access to everyone who you want to
share information with. Google Docs shall be used in doing group work. It can make your group
working more effective.
