The Kosove Scholarship is an all-inclusive scholarship to the University of South
Florida. This scholarship covers tuition and fees, textbooks and course materials,
housing and meal plan for each semester, funds for education abroad experiences,
academic conference travel support and funds for research internships. This
scholarship is available to incoming Freshmen at The University of South Florida.
The minimum GPA and test score requirements are: 3.5 GPA, 1250 SAT, or 28

Southern Scholarship Foundation Housing Scholarship
The Southern Scholarship Foundation provides rent-free scholarship housing for
qualified students demonstrating academic achievement (with a minimum 3.0
cumulative GPA), financial need (as identified on the FAFSA), and good character.
With this scholarship, students save $10,000-$12,000 per year. There are 27
scholarship houses on six Florida College Campuses (Florida A&M, Florida Gulf
Coast University, Florida State Univ., Tallahassee Community College, Santa Fe
College, and the Univ. of Florida) and are looking to extend their recruitment
efforts. For Fall 2015, they are expecting to award 100-150 spots among all 6

The Arts for Life Scholarship Program annually awards $2,000 scholarships to 25
graduating high school seniors in Florida who demonstrate excellence in visual art,
music, dance, drama or creative writing. Launched by former First Lady Columba
Bush in 1999, the program has awarded scholarships to more than 375 gifted high
school seniors.
Students must submit a completed application, a brief essay explaining “How the
arts have positively influenced my life” and a portfolio of work in visual art, music,

College Matching Program: In addition to the program’s $2,000 cash award,
winners will be automatically eligible to receive a matching in-kind scholarship
worth a minimum of $1,000 if they attend one of the participating Florida institutions

Florida College, Florida Atlantic Univ, Florida Institute of Technology, Jacksonville

High school students are eligible. Must read two specific articles, write essay of
1,200 words or less on "Drawing on the readings, discuss the relationship between
individual freedom and social/economic prosperity. Feel free to incorporate outside
research." Include name, address, phone number, email address in body of essay

Requirements:
-Essay submissions for the 2015 contest will be accepted starting
September 1, 2014. The contest deadline is Monday, January 5,
2015.
-Essays can be no more than 1,000 words but must be a minimum
of 700 words. Citations and bibliography are not included in
the word count.
-Essays must be the original work of the student.
-John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Edward M. Kennedy are
not eligible subjects for essays.
-Essays must describe an act of political courage by a U.S.
elected official that occurred during or after 1956, the
publication date of Profiles in Courage. The official may have
addressed an issue at the local, state, or national level.
-Essays about past recipients of the Profile in Courage Award
will be disqualified unless they describe an act of political
courage other than the act for which the award was given.
-Essays must have a minimum of five sources.

attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. Requires a minimum 3.0

demonstrate a financial need. In addition to these requirements, semifinalists must
be nominated by a community leader and must provide documentation to certify

scholarship program bases its awards totally on essays written
by the applicants. Consideration is not given to grades,
academic program or financial need.
