Week 1
This was my first week in nursing class in college. It was a great experience for me. First day
professor Bodnar taught us about the different kinds of learning styles. According to me I am a
visual learner. Visual learner style helps to remember what was read or seen, think in pictures or
words, written reports, and need to take detail notes. I will make different strategies to get more
benefits of visual learning. I can improve my learning by knowing what my strength is. I can
improve my learning by knowing what my weaknesses are and trying to enhance my skills.
According to my learning style I try to listen and write down what I hear and check for
understand after class. Notes, slides and book is very helpful to learn, so it`s easy to remember
during study. I use my own learning style by practicing my techniques that helps me to succeed
in tests, case studies and assignments. I need to avoid some social networks such as desiforum
(Indian TV shows), facebook and skype due to their destructive influence on my learning. I live
in a rental house in Welland and three there are more girls live over there. One of them has music
course. Sometimes she plays music very loudly and hat distracts me.
Week 2
Florence Nightangle was the founder of modern nursing. Yes, she is relevant to modern day
healthcare issues. Her nursing education emphasized to need to mix theoretical and clinical
experiences which is very helpful to build patient-nurse relationship. Her nursing education is
also emphasized the moral qualities of nursing, patient values are still relevant today. She was

empowered through her personal experience or personal experience or philosophy, which has
really spiritual and practical which is related to everyday life. She included an environmental
adaptation theory, which is relevant to modern life. Yes, she is a role model for me because she
was belonged to a rich family, but she dedicated her life to help and care people. I love to take
care and help other people. I chose nursing profession because I love to take care of people. In
future when I will get nursing job, I would try my best to follow the techniques of Florence
Nightangle and I believe that she was ahead of her time. Her fundamental techniques are still use
in present and also will use in future as well.
Week 3
I will use research in clinical practice by given the methodological problems in studies. There is
need for the development of research use and well designed studies examining nurses use of
research and it`s impact on patient outcomes. During my student experience at Niagara College
provide greater insight to develop an effective clinical teaching strategy in nursing education.
According to me a qualitative data base technique is more essential during clinical practice. It
can be used at any point in a research program.
WEEK 4
Reflection helps to understand relationship between theory and clinical experiences. This week
the lecture in the class was about reflection. Reflection is your views what you learn in the class.

I can better understand about reflection to build on existing strengths and take appropriate future
action. I help to develop professional and personal competence.
Week 5
Professionalism development is influenced by the informal curriculum. This study was to better
understand the experimental learning. During class there was a lot of stuff to learn about
professionalism. It helped to develop the personal attributes. I need to work on enthusiastic as
personal attributes because I am very shy person. According to me in nursing a person should not
be enthusiastic. After two years, definitely I will improve it because Prof. Bodnar helps all
students to ask their concerns and answers at any topic. She encourages students to speak up
openly and share their ideas. After two years if I improve this then I would be a good nurse.
Week 6
This week Prof. Bodnar taught about nurse-patient relationship. This relationship is very
important and also very respectful because nurses take care of patients. Nurses should know
patient`s conditions and their health history as well. A nurse`s job is to care for a patient`s
medical needs. The relationship between patient and nurse requires trust, understanding and
demonstrates an imbalance of power. If a patient knows something about the treatments, then it`s
very useful for nurses to treat the patient. If the patient understands nurses instructions, then it`s
very easy for the nurse.

Week 7
I believe that a nurse promotes emotional and physical well being. She should be loving, joyful
and comforting. I believe that it is beneficial to the patient to be treated as a human being. I
believe that professional nursing is an art and science base discipline processing a unique body
of knowledge. I also believe that patients receive best care when all disciplines demonstrate the
standards of behaviour. It`s a nurse`s responsibility to seek recourses to achieve positive clinical
outcomes. I believe that learning is a shared experience between a teacher and a student.
According to my philosophy of nursing is that nursing is that it is the interaction between
society, person and environment.
Week 8
In my class Prof. Bodnar taught us about the different kinds of learning styles. According to
those learning styles, I am a visual learner. The visual learners learn new information best
through visuals. I always learn best and take notes when visual information is being presented
and try to create my own charts while learning. When I make outlines of everything, then it`s
easy to learn and understand everything. In my class it`s very benefit for me when Prof. Bodnar
uses visual aids such as videos, films, maps and charts. It`s easy to learn and understand
everything. I learn best when information is presented visually and I imagine it`s picture in my
mind. Highlighter pens to highlight keywords & pictures on the flashboard are also very useful.
Book is also very useful for visual learner like me.

Week 10
In 10th week we did a group care plan, we did case study in group of four people. We
collected our different diagnosis. Then we choose only one which was more related to that case
study and which was more effective. It was very great experience for me because we shared our
ideas with each other. In class Prof. Bodnar told about the nursing diagnosis book and how to
find the different diagnosis. Really this book is very useful in nursing profession. Our group care
plan is created using the nursing process, evidence-based nursing and critical thinking. Using
Gordon’s functional health patterns, we were able to narrow our focus to one prominent nursing
diagnosis. The care plan has been divided into categories of Assessment, Diagnosis and
Planning, and Implementation and Evaluation.
Week 11
The implements and evaluation were effectively, improve programs and demonstrate program
outcomes. In class Prof. Bodnar taught us about the implements and evaluation of nursing follow
assessment, nursing diagnosis and planning. Critical thinking is essential to form a good health
care worker. The standard of a practical nurse is very articulate within an evaluating health care
system. In my class I learned that patients experience care is satisfying and innovative.
Week 12
When I will be a nurse, then I will follow all these methods and use documents during clinical
practice. I will concentrate at the patient`s health. Nursing profession is the most professional,
ethical, political, environmental and economic profession. According to me nursing is a
respectful and truthful profession. I will improve the standard of nursing practice and share my

best ideas with others. I will never compare my nursing profession with my personal life. I will
also promote the values of the patient`s well being. According to me to become a professional
nurse requires that to think like a health care worker. Nurses with critical thinking skills have
strive to be clear, logical, precise, accurate and good communication.
