OUR RESOURCES

India has more than one-fourth(8000 species) of the world
known medicinal plants(30,000 species)

90% of the country’s medicinal plants occur in ‘forest’ and wild
habitats.

10% of India’s plant species are currently endangered

Example – Pterocarpus santalinus, Decalepis hamiltonii,
Rauvalfia serpentina, Shorea tumbaggaia

Over 95% of the medicinal plants used by the Indian industry are
collected from the wild.
