English 3- Unit 18: Colors
Lesson 1 ( Using game)
1. Objectives: -Knowledge: Students will be able to
+ Vocabulary: identify colors: red, orange, yellow, blue, green,
Purple.
+ Structures: ask and answer about colors
What color is it? It’s red
- Skills: Students will be able to
+ listen to the tape
+ read the dialogue in textbook.
+ work in pairs to ask and answer about colors.
+ work in groups to play game
- Education: educate Students love the nature through colors.
Materials: Pictures, flash cards of colors, puppets.

Purpose
1. Look, listen and repeat
- Asks Ss 2 question:
+ “How many characters are there in the - Help Ss identify name of characters in
picture?”

- Explains what characters are doing:
they are playing blindfold game.
- Set up the situation of blindfold game
with 2 puppets in which use the
dialogue in the textbook.
- Make Ss understand the situation in the
pictures with blindfold game.
- Mimes the dialogue with 2 puppets.
Plays the recording for 2 times. In the
second time, asks Ss to repeat each line
in their book.
- Help Ss understand the situation easily.
Help them recognize pronunciations of
words in textbook and repeat them.
- Calls out some pairs of Ss to read the
dialogue and then asks whole class to
read again.
- Help Ss to practice the dialogue.
2. Look and say.
- Asks Ss to open the book and
- Help Ss identify colors in textbook.

3. Talk
- Uses game : Call out the colors
- Selects 15 Ss: 14 Ss stand in a circle
and 1 St who stands between that circle.
- Gives the rules:
+ Stick a color flash card on 14 Ss’
shoulder.
+ 14 Ss will ask “What colors is it?” and
the person will call out any color:
It’s….. Anyone wearing that color gets
to start dancing, if not, they are out of
- Help Ss practice the structure ask and
answer about colors in real situation.
It’s easily to remember vocabulary about
colors. Besides, it make fun atmosphere
in class when Ss have to dancing.
