My name is Terry Howard and I am Stoner…I mean Sam Ventura’s close friend.
We go waaaaaay back. For some reason the “man” wants me to put into writing what I
know about Stoner. All I can say is that man loves his pizza! I’m not looking to get my
buddy into trouble but he didn’t get the nickname Stoner for no reason! I can’t blame
him though, I enjoy in partaking as well. That’s how we became such good friends back
at Monroe U. And boy, when that guy is enjoying the magical herbs, he loves to eat him
some pizza! I can’t tell you how many times I have been there when we got through at
least a large pie between the two of us!

It was a good thing he was a trust fund baby because he would just go through
money on herbs. I always thought his purveyor, Alex something, took advantage of him
and charged more than he should. He would never show any interest in Stoner other
than getting his money. Sometimes I felt that he thought Stoner was an idiot by the way
he treated him but Stoner is no idiot. Sure he likes to smoke but he knows what is
going on. He just likes to enjoy life and be happy. Can you blame him though, his trust
is so large that he doesn’t have to worry about working for the rest of his life! Although,
at the rate he buys, he might need to consider at least a part time job. With all the pizza
he eats he should think about becoming a pizza delivery man. I’ve actually told him that
a couple of times now that he should get into the delivery business. He is always
asking people to come over and enjoy pizza with him; he would be a great salesman for
pizza!

The “man” was asking me whether Stoner sells his herbs. HECK NO my friend.
One of Stoner’s biggest problems is that he is too nice! He loves to share whether it is
his pizza or his herbs. Besides, if he was selling on his own, he wouldn’t have still been
buying from that Alex guy. I knew he was no good, I warned Stoner about him. Alex
has always been out for his best interest and doesn’t care about anyone else. He just
had that vibe about him, like a bad aura surrounding him. Stoner had so many other
friends that he purchased from I just didn’t understand why he would help Alex out,
especially when he was blatantly overcharging. His stuff wasn’t even that good. Stoner
just said he felt he should share his wealth and that Alex wasn’t all that bad. Besides,
once he found Alex, he didn’t have to go into some of the rougher parts of town to
purchase his herbs.

For awhile I got my wish, Stoner found some better sources and stopped buying
from Alex. I also heard around town that Alex had gotten in some trouble and had to lay
low for a while. That was fine with me, like I said, I never thought the guy was good
news. But then out of nowhere, he called Stoner in January. Stoner asked me if he
thought he should go back to buying from Alex again and of course I said no but Stoner
being Stoner, told him to come over to share some pizza with us. I swear it was like

Stoner’s version of breaking bread. Within a couple of minutes Alex was there, which I
thought was odd. It was almost like he was just waiting outside the house because he
knew Stoner would say yes.

When Alex came in we ate some pizza and when I went in the other room to get
some more herbs, Alex lowered his voice and started asking Stoner about something.
Since I feel like I am Stoner’s bigger brother I started getting concerned. I had an
instant feeling that Alex was up to no good. Like I said, I had heard around town that
Alex had gotten into some trouble, trouble enough to keep him off the streets for awhile.
When I came back in Alex looked visibly frustrated, like a little kid who didn’t get his way
and he stormed out. I asked Stoner what it was about and he mumbled something
about McDonald’s. I didn’t understand it but that wasn’t unusual. There are plenty of
times I don’t understand Stoner’s ramblings! I was worried about it for awhile but things
kept on going as usual so I stopped thinking about it.

Then, in September, Alex asked to come over again. Alex and Stoner rarely do
“business” at the house so my senses were on high alert let’s say. Alex was pretty quiet
at first and I didn’t understand why he was there, Stoner had plenty of his herbs. That
guy loves buying in bulk! Maybe Alex saw all the herbs and was jealous that Stoner had
found some other source, I dunno, all I know was Alex was acting strange and more
distant than usual, which is pretty hard to do.

All of a sudden, out of nowhere, Alex starts trying to get Stoner to sell him weed!
I couldn’t believe it, I would not have expected that! Well that got Stoner pretty upset
because he does not sell that stuff. He only buys it for his own enjoyment and the
enjoyment of his friends, like me. Stoner has a big heart and would rather share it then
sell it. Alex kept on pushing the idea on him and that’s when I started hearing alarm
bells go off. He was totally trying to set up Stoner. The nerve of him! When he couldn’t
talk Stoner into it he went and grabbed some of the herbs for himself. Since I had
figured out what he was up to, I didn’t want him leaving with anything because I knew
he was going to try to get Stoner in trouble so I tackled him and Stoner joined in and
with his help we were able to get the bag back from Alex. When he realized he lost,
Alex got up and glared at the two of us. I knew at that moment that poor Stoner was
going to get into trouble no matter what Alex had to do. Alex had too much pride to let a
stoner get the best of him.

A little while later the “man” came knocking down the door with a piece of paper
he called a search warrant and Stoner and I were pushed around and the handcuffed.
All of that for some herbs…it was unbelievable! Anyway, we were both told we were
arrested for selling marijuana. I told the cops they were being ridiculous, Stoner does
not sell that stuff, he just enjoys it! That Detective Seaver guy was there and man when
he saw all the weed he had a look in his eye like it was his big pay day. It made me so

nervous that I blurted out it was all Stoner’s and not mine. To be fair, it was all his, but
he always lets me have some and I knew I never even had to ask for some. But I had
heard about Seaver and by the look in his eye, he wanted all the herbs for himself. I
would be shocked if it all made it back to the evidence room. You should be looking into
him not us, we just enjoy the herbs and our pizza!

I see that Mattingly is scheduled to testify. That is weird since word on the street
is that Suri Mattingly was running a meth lab out of the PSP crime lab. Apparently
Mattingly set up his supervisor to take the fall so that Matti8ngly could take over and run
the entire lab.
