Coastal Bend College Website: Employee Benefits
When you experience a qualifying life event, you have the
opportunity to add or change coverage for yourself or additional
family members. The following qualifying life events will allow you
to add you, your spouse, and/or child(ren) to coverage within the
first 31 days of the event.
Marriage
Children (age of child)
Employment after retirement
Moving (out of service area)
Eligibility for Medicare or Medicaid
Divorce / Court orders for health coverage
Death
*If
changes are not made within 31 days of the
event, you will need to wait until the next annual
enrollment period.
*All benefit changes must be coordinated with
Human Resources to ensure proper deductions for
each pay period.

Direct Deposit
All employees of Coastal Bend College are
now eligible to set up their payroll on
direct deposit with their financial
institution. The Direct Deposit
Authorization Form is located on the
Human Resources page in the Employee
Forms section.
Pay dates are as follows:
Absentee Report
Absentee Report: A signed absentee
report must be submitted to the Payroll
Department (located in the Business
Office) payroll@coastalbend.edu by
each employee for the time the
employee is absent from assigned
duties. The employee’s supervisor will
classify the absence as authorized or
unauthorized prior to submission.
1day = 8 hours
½= 4 hours

Employee Paystub Link
The Employee Pay Stub Link allows
employees to access their pay stubs and
view their Leave balances.
*If your birth month is 1-9 (January
through September), do not enter the
zero! The date 06/06/1976 would be
entered as 6061976. The date
12/02/1976 would be entered as
12021976.
*When entering your Staff ID, do not
enter dashes, only the numbers. If you
you have not changed your PIN, it is
your date of birth in MMDDYYYYY
format without any leading zeroes.

Accident /Incident Report
Accident/ Incident Report : This form
must be filled out with in 24 hours of
an accident/incident. Please submit
completed form to Denice Hadwin or
Jacinto Colmenero.
The following Workers’ Compensation
forms, located on the Human Resources
Employee Forms page, must be filled
out in the event that an Employee is
injured:

Professional Development Log
Each full time employee is required to
complete at least 12 hours of
professional development annually
(Sept- Aug). Professional development
must be appropriate to your position
and may be obtained by :

On-line training
•
Attending Seminars & Conferences
•
Continuing Education Classes
•
College Courses
Hours are to be recorded on APL Log .
APL Log is to be signed by your Direct
Supervisor and then submitted to
humanresources@coastalbned.edu
