Notes:
*We are looking forward to our field trip on Friday! The cafeteria will not be
available for purchases so be sure to pack a disposable lunch and a snack.
Please remember to wear Lynnewood colors (maroon and gray) and sneakers.
Sunscreen is also encouraged. Our trip is rain or shine so please dress
accordingly. Students and chaperones should arrive at school between 8:35 and
8:45. We will return around 2:00. If you have a zoo membership, please be
sure to bring it. Thanks for your support! It will be a great trip.
*Attached you will find new Word Wall flashcards for Theme 10 of language arts.
This is the last set of words for first grade! We will be practicing these words
over the next several weeks. Please practice these words at home frequently. You
may wish to copy the words onto more durable index cards. Our goal is to recognize
these words instantly. Your child can include Word Wall practice in his/her Reading
Log. I have also attached “Challenge Words” for Theme 10 of language arts. If
your child is ready for a challenge, he/she can practice these words too.
*Our First Grade Poetry Party and Picnic will be Wednesday, June 3rd from 1:152:15! Families and younger siblings may join us in our classroom at 1:15 for a
presentation of poems that we've been working on. Then, we'll head out to the field
next to the cafeteria to celebrate our fantastic year with a picnic! Please note
students in other Lynnewood classrooms cannot be pulled out of class for this event.
More information to come!
*Tuesday, May 19th is an Inservice Day for teachers. There is no school for
students.
