Anyone who wishes to tape record lectures may do so. 1 Grading: o The Developmental and Cell Biology portion of the class will weight equally o There will be 4 exam weighing 90% and the recitation will count for 10%. o Re-grading: Requests for exam re-grade must be submitted to me before the next exam. Please justify why your answer should be accepted in 300 words. The entire exam will be re-graded, which may result in raising or lowering of your total points. Thus, we encourage you to petition for a re-grade only if you have a strong justification. Exam taken in pencil will NOT be re-graded. Exams: o Questions will be taken from lectures, recitations, and assigned readings. o Exams must be taken on the dates indicated during the regular class period. o Makeup exams will only be given in exceptional circumstances, i.e., medical or family emergency documented in writing. You must notify me of such an emergency before the time of the regular exam. The makeup exam may be an oral exam. o You must write the exam in ink. **If any of your exam grades falls in the bottom 20% of the class, please meet with the professor at the earliest possible time – We will plan together how to improve your performance on the next exam. 2 Assignments and problem sets: o Must be turned in at the beginning of recitation. Late assignments will not be accepted. If you cannot make the recitation, please email it before recitation begins. Honor Code: As in all classes at UNC-CH, the Honor Code is in effect in this class.
