attending and staying actively engaged during lectures; reviewing classroom
material; completing assigned homework; and asking questions.

Attendance: strongly recommended for all classes and recitation.

Class Participation: Please come to lecture prepared to learn and ask
questions. Your professors and TA are happy to answer your questions
during and after class, during office hours and/or recitation. Anyone who
wishes to tape record lectures may do so.


Grading:
o The Developmental and Cell Biology portion of the class will weight
equally
o There will be 4 exam weighing 90% and the recitation will count for
10%.
o Re-grading: Requests for exam re-grade must be submitted to me
before the next exam. Please justify why your answer should be
accepted in 300 words. The entire exam will be re-graded, which
may result in raising or lowering of your total points. Thus, we
encourage you to petition for a re-grade only if you have a strong
justification. Exam taken in pencil will NOT be re-graded.

Exams:
o Questions will be taken from lectures, recitations, and assigned
readings.
o Exams must be taken on the dates indicated during the regular
class period.
o Makeup exams will only be given in exceptional circumstances, i.e.,
medical or family emergency documented in writing. You must
notify me of such an emergency before the time of the regular
exam. The makeup exam may be an oral exam.
o You must write the exam in ink.
**If any of your exam grades falls in the bottom 20% of the class,
please meet with the professor at the earliest possible time – We
