Grading procedure for every Marking period
Grades are determined from
a variety of assessments:
quizzes, science projects,
labs, notebook checks, and
tests.
Assessments are given
numerical grades, and
grades are derived by
dividing the total points
earned by the total points
possible. Then this ratio is
converted to a percentage.
A – 100%-93%
B – 92% - 85%
C – 84% - 77%
D – 76% - 70%
F – below 70%
A typical Unit takes 2 wks.

Homework is assigned on Monday, and reviewed on
Tuesday. However it is only checked on Tests’ days.
Quizzes may be unannounced, but students can use
their notebooks and work in pairs.
Labs will held on Block days.
Lab write-ups are due every Friday.
Notebooks will be checked every test day. The
notebook should contain all notes, labs, handouts,
homework assignments, quizzes, and tests.
Exams are held on the 3rd or 4th Friday of every
month.
The Science project is due the week of each Marking
periods Interim.
Parent Role
Encourage their child to perform their
best.
 Contact Instructor when there are any
questions or concerns.
 Contact your child’s guidance counselor
to schedule a parent-teacher
conference.

